Terms of Service
Last updated 22 August 2026
These terms cover use of this website and any commission or purchase arranged through it. Placing an inquiry or accepting an invoice means you agree to them.
The portfolio is not a catalog
Qipao shown on this site is portfolio work. Pieces marked unavailable were made to order for a client and are displayed as a record of the studio's work, not as inventory. New commissions are original designs made for you — not reproductions of a sold piece.
Commissions
- A commission begins when fabric and direction are selected, the production deposit is paid, and the work order is approved.
- Deposits are non-refundable once cutting has begun, as materials are committed to your measurements.
- Measurements are taken in person, in the clothing and bra you intend to wear with the garment. Significant changes in measurement after fitting may require alteration charges.
- Made-to-order garments are final sale. See Shipping & Returns.
Ready-to-wear
- Ready-to-wear pieces are one of a kind and sold as shown. Waist adjustment may be available when construction allows.
- Alterations take 7–11 days and are paid in full before work begins.
- Pieces purchased at the studio are final sale, regardless of additional alteration performed by the studio.
- Ready-to-wear that has been shipped may be returned within 3 days of delivery, on the conditions set out in Shipping & Returns. Returns are not accepted after that period, and no refund is issued.
Pricing and payment
- Made-to-order Qipao starts at $650 before applicable tax. Additional layers, piping, pattern matching (对花), and advanced techniques may increase the price.
- Bellevue sales tax of 10.3% is applied to the pre-tax total.
- Zelle payment receives 3% off, applied to the subtotal before tax.
- Zelle payments are final and non-reversible. Refunds for Zelle orders are returned by Zelle transfer to the sending account.
- Made-to-order commissions begin with a $300 production deposit.
- Quoted prices are held for 3 days unless stated otherwise.
Materials
Relevant pieces are made from 100% mulberry silk sourced from Japan. Metallic-thread content is disclosed individually. Natural silk varies in weave, hand, and dye lot; slight variation is a property of the material rather than a defect.
Intellectual property
All designs, photographs, written content, and the XINGYUJI ATELIER name on this site belong to the studio. You may not reproduce, resell, or use them commercially without written permission. The studio retains the right to photograph and display completed commissions as portfolio work; tell us before your final fitting if you would prefer your piece not be shown.
Limitation of liability
The studio's liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including missed events arising from shipping delays outside our control.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States.
